The UNM IRB is excited to announce that it is currently recruiting a Graduate or Professional student to serve a one year membership on the UNM IRB. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about human research protections regulations and gain insight into the IRB review process. The deadline to submit application materials is November 30, 2026.
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a diverse group of people who review and approve human research. The IRB is responsible for determining whether research projects meet ethical standards and appropriately protect research participants. The UNM IRB expands the diversity of the board by including one graduate or professional student to serve as an IRB member for a 1-year term. To apply for IRB membership, please complete and provide the following:
- Graduate Student IRB Member Application
- A current CV or resume
- A letter of recommendation from your faculty advisor or department chair
- Email your application packet to: IRBMainCampus@unm.edu by November 30, 2026
