It is the commitment of the UNM Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) to promote the safety and protection of people participating in research by establishing and encouraging high ethical standards and facilitating communication across campus. The UNM Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversees human research conducted by faculty, staff and students at UNM’s main (Albuquerque) and branch (Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos, UNM West, and Valencia) campuses. The Office of the IRB (OIRB) works to meet the HRPP’s vision by providing support, guidance, and education to researchers and the community in order to facilitate ethical and scientifically sound research. The UNM IRB is currently recruiting a Graduate or Professional student to serve a one year membership on the UNM IRB. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about human research protections regulations and gain insight into the IRB review process.
