We are excited to announce that the UNM main campus human research protections program (HRPP) has achieved full national accreditation through AAHRPP (Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protections Programs®). I want to personally thank everyone for contributing time, support and enthusiasm to this effort. I am very proud to be a part of this program and I appreciate everything that you all do to promote the ethical conduct of research at UNM.
I am also pleased to share our newly published UNM IRB Researcher Handbook. This handbook was created to provide guidance to Main and Branch campus researchers at UNM who conduct human research. This document provides information about federal regulations as well as UNM policies supporting and interpreting research regulations. I’d also like to thank the following individuals who assisted with the review and editing of the handbook: Dr. Bill Stanley (Political Science), Dr. Ann Gibson (HESS), Dr. Mark Childs (Architecture), Dr. Katie Coakley (Nutrition), and Mr. Craig Pacheco (ISR). The handbook can be found in the IRB Library on our website.
